The series ended in September 1987, so that's a whole year before the launch of the Cefiro. If this scene is really from Episode 10, which was first broadcast in December 1986, and filmed earlier, that's nearly two years ! Something's not right. And that's not the only strange thing. The E30 Galant was launched in October 1987, yet it's seen in Episode 13, also from December 1986. Mitsubishi wasn't a sponsor of the show, so why would they provide a not yet unveiled car ? |

I found perhaps an explanation. According to the Wikipedia page the series became very popular and spawned films, spin-offs series, and books. The infobox reads: followed by: Motto Abunai Deka (モットーアブナイデカ). If there is a spin-off it must've been produced with the same main characters very shortly after the original tv-serie. This explains why there are two main cars, the 1988 Leopard and the Cefiro that are ''too new''. I didn't know of any spin-off tv serie when i used a translator for the Japanese titles on YouTube. The IMDb page is also very vague, listing it as a movie https://www.imdb.com/title/tt1548611/?ref_=fn_al_tt_1 ![]() |

The 88 F31 is indeed in this show, but the Cefiro, R31's and E30 Galant are NOT from this show. There from the second series (もっとあぶない刑事). Some of the other vehicles (83 Mazda Bongo, 85 Toyota Mark II Van, 82 Toyota Cresta, 85 Honda Accord, 79 Nissan Bluebird, etc) are also from the second series. It premiered in 1988, shortly after this one. I'm guessing police car fan didn't check to see if they came from the first or second series before adding them here (There was no sub in 2019, would explain the missing EP's ![]() |
