Those wheels look Morrisish to me, probably an Isis, but without further views it is too much of a long shot. |

Nah, never seen a Morris with shutter doors like those in the bonnet. |

Apart from the doors it looks like a Hillman 20/70, there is a thing in the picture which might be a carrier for the sidemount, but no spare on it. Those bonnet Louvre doors definitely fit the bill. Link to "www.dvca.co.uk" |

Maybe as a licenced taxi, the front door handle has been removed to prevent use?? |

The car in the link has clap hands doors, the subject vehicle, as shown by the door handle visible in the thumb, doesn’t. However, the body looks so similar, and strange things were possible in the thirties, that such doors could have been an option. The petrol filler and the wheels match, as well as the bonnet. Another possibility is the Humber Snipe, which looks very similar. -- Last edit: 2019-05-01 14:33:00 |

After searching for Humber Snipe images I found this, with many of the same details looking to be a match including the doors... Possibly a 1934 Humber 16/60 Saloon? Only a suggestion jfs, I don't have any reason to say its right only it could be a better match for the movie vehicle, or am I missing something? https://auction.catawiki.com/kavels/9683955-humber-16-60-saloon-1934 |

1. Hillman and Humber cars in the 30s did very much as they did in the 60s. Where the model overlap allowed, Humbers were basically GLS versions of the Hillman baseline car, using the same pressings but different shiny bits. 2. Since the doors now match and there is a bit of chrome showing as a radiator grille, I have no disagreement with your findings, please carry on. Driving my Hunters or my father in law’s Sceptre Series 3 was, overdrive apart, a very similar experience. -- Last edit: 2019-05-02 21:12:08 |
