Pre 67. The side windows are looking quite small. I'm brooding, if it's perhaps a brazilian Beetle. Then there were several details different. But a lot of the VW in NZ were assembled in Australia. There they made the European version. Or it's an South African one?? |

With the thinner indicators and the lack of the Wolfsburg badge on the bonnet it's a 1963 model year 1200. Externally, it's like an r.h.d. European model. |

I agree with Ingo, it is Australian assembled for New Zealand market. |

If an Australian car, it is built in Australia, Australian made parts (Clayton). If a NZ car - filmed in NZ - it is a NZ made CKD (Otahuhu, Auckland) based on Australian made parts. Anyay VW 1200 Deluxe would be the name for 1963. |
