That's not a 1998 model. Wrong tail lamps, molding, and grille. That is a 1999-2000 model with a 2001+ grille you linked.

Someone should tell that to Cinema Services.

Here's an actual 1998 with somewhat black door handles

Yeah they mess up a lot of years. Saw this heavily on the news and ambulance rental ford vans. Listing a 1992 as a 2009

Let me clarify for you on the vics. 1998's all have the handles you linked right above. 1999+ police models have the handles shown in the main. Taxi models I believe followed the cops with black handles?
Civilian Models retained chrome on the handle.

The tails in 1998-early 1999 have amber in the bottom for cop/taxi/civ. Mid 1999 the tails changed on the taxi/pi to the red you are use to seeing.
Civilian models kept the amber style until 2003/2004-ish?

However to confuse you more there is a SAP cop model. Street Appearance Package is what it stands ford and they look like the civilian models; having chrome handles, rear painted garnish, crown civ badge instead of pi, and usually wheelcovers instead of center cap exposed steelies.

The honey comb grille is 2001-2011 taxi/cop only. No civilian model had one from the factory. 1998's all have a chrome grille. 1999-2000 have different black slotted grille( there is a difference between 1999 & 2000 but I cannot spot it) for cop/taxi models.1999-end of civilian models have chrome grilles. Forget when the last civ model came out.

Hope that helps and if I am wrong on anything please tell me.

That's a lot to take in. So far no, all of what you said is right, especially for the grilles. It will be useful in identifying the mass amount of Crown Victoria's that don't have years yet.

Reason they are blank is due to Ford_Guy being the expert. He has been mia as of late sadly. He doesn't appreciate the year added if he has to fix a million when he logs in but if there is a consesus to add years we can....I only add a year if I am 100% on these vics.

That's why I created a thread on the forum about these:

This one looks like a mutt, but has a 2000 grille FWIW.

I thought this one may be a 1998 because of the painted over bumper trim (looks like chrome painted over rather than black plastic) and what appears to be a mismatch of parts, although it could be a 2000 Police Interceptor [P71].

This is a 2000. The bumper trim has been painted over and the wheels are cheap aftermarket hubcaps.
