From look on cartpartmea it appears the middle east has Canadian/American imported spec cars while also getting American built GCC spec cars. GCC specs seem to be: repeater on the front fenders. Specific trim levels. Kilometer odometers. The main, upon zooming in, seems to have a fender repeater indicating a GCC spec model. From what I can see of the VINs the authentic GCC spec models were all imported from the USA. @Bahraini Carguy can you confirm or deny this information please? Edit: first year of authentic GCC spec models is 2003 there. 2002 was still the older generation for GCC spec models. -- Last edit: 2024-01-29 02:25:59 |

You're sorta correct as Oman and UAE are awash-ed with USDM/CDM Toyota's and Nissan's, especially in the case of Oman. That being said however, Gulf spec 2003-2006 Camry's were all built in Australia. In fact, the only time that GCC Spec Camry's have been built in the States were the XV10 Camry Wagon (until '96) and the XSE/Limited trim for the 2016-2017 Camry (XV50). They are other minor differences like the antenna placement, trim molding and headlights but it's hard for me to describe. Otherwise, spot on. It's hard to tell from the main photo to be honest. It could be a NA or ME Market Camry for all i know. Also yes, 2003 was the first model year for us. |
