Although with an H-suffix reg., this specific grille, the wheels and the lack of indicator repeaters identify a 1972+ ( introduced September 1971 ) Austin 1300 MkIII.

1974? Almost as bad as the numerous times they have used 'Won't Get Fooled Again' on the soundtrack.

Sandie wrote .... the numerous times they have used 'Won't Get Fooled Again' on the soundtrack.

So there's a reason after all for watching Heartbeat - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SHhrZgojY1Q . Do they ever use
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ElHLPvB1ZW0 ?

I think so. Can't quite remember. If they did and I was watching (grumpy music and motors pedant that I am) I will have no doubt mentioned to anyone who was listening that it was a song from the early seventies.

Both of those are the two Who entries on my list of top songs I've recently had to knock together.

Indeed, the main reason I ever watched any Heartbeat episodes was to see or hear cars or songs that were out of place.

It is strange how they seem to get the wrong car for the time period. I guess this happens alot in many TV shows and films, but Heartbeat seems to have quite a few. Is it really that hard to get the right period car?. I suppose it's down to availability and what they can acquire. They obviously think noone is going to notice, unless you're a classic car fanatic. I heard that alot of the cars used in the series were supplied by a dealer that the production used to deal with, not sure if every car they showed where from the same place though (unlikely). The same can be said for the out of place music. The only exception for out of place music in a HB episode I think of, which I can forgive them for because it suited the scene so well (lyrical speaking), was in one of the early series involving a bare knuckle fight, and the song was Baba O'Reilly by The Who.

Ep 13.22 is a Mk3 (so Austin only) in Black Tulip, probably 1300.
