From wiki - "A low compression version of the Rover 3.5 litre V8 unit (taken from Land Rover) also became available on certain versions of the 300 Series (with a modified drivetrain) from 1986, producing 132 horsepower (98 kW). This version was designed for emergency services and express delivery operators, and was bought in large numbers by the police and ambulance services."

:sun: But I was just reciting what someone else says as I don't really know Sherpas, so fingers crossed they've got it right - particularly as this is our first identified 300 alongside a batch of several 200. It's not a 400 which was a different bigger body. So if anyone else can add info ......

It's a smaller, older Freight Rover with fake Leyland DAF and V8 badges. It even still has a Freight-Rover badge as well...

It's a bit of a bitsa (the bumper/indicator location and headlights don't really fit) but definitely not a Leyland DAF or a 300 (which became 400 with the re-branding to LD). I'm tending towards a 1982-84 Sherpa [K2] which has had square lights fitted, as the change to the indicators would require filling to the sheet metal just below the headlights. Also don't think it's a real HK police vehicle considering the age and that their fleet was the later model, probably just an old Sherpa mocked up to look slightly like the police ones (hence the badges probably, and maybe the square lights too).

Small Sherpa didn't get the V8, best it managed later on was the 2.0 O-Series petrol.
