Alexander ◊ 2005-10-25 22:45	It is an IKA Estanciera made from 1956 by Industrias Kaiser Argentina and based on the Willys Jeep Pick-Up Truck. Kaiser owned Willys and started building cars in Argentinia in '56.

This is a brazilian RURAL-WILLYS, made in Brazil by Willys Overland do Brasil from 57 to 59 (in 1960, the model had a face lift, changing all front panels and rear split windows and windshield). In those years, it was virtually impossible to import vehicles from Argentina, and vice-versa. So, there is no doubt about the brazilian production. Here, the model was called Rural (not Estanciera) names that have similar meaning both in Portuguese and Spanish. There was a chromed name plate RURAL-WILLYS on both sides of hood and probably this would be the unique external difference in late 50's cars. I saw some Estancieras late in the 60's, belonging to tourists. At that time, the Estanciera only changed the windshield, abandoning the split window to a wraparound glass. Also finishing were more accurate than brazilian cars, with double chromed strips on the side body, while the brazilian eliminated theirs. kind regards, Dieckmann
