This one would have to be classified under DKW Vemag .It is a Brasilian Vemag Vemaguet ( combi version) of ca.1958

Some sources say 1957, some 1958, if I correctly interpret what is written.

And the older version of 1956:

No chances to be 1957, as those models had the same shape of 56, except for the rear door. 56 doors hinged vertically like commercial vans, 57, horizontally like many other station wagons.

59 cars were 900 cm³ and 60 were 1000, with this number placed under VEMAG on the side. We cannot find the real year, as all, from 58 to 60 spotted the same front parts. Quite curious, Vemaguet name was introduced only between 61-62, I can check exactly that, but then the car showed completely different bumpers, front and rear, very handsome in my opinion. Regretfully, almost at the same time, they lose those aluminium strips on rear decks.

The Sedan was nicknamed Belcar and the station, Vemaguet. They were produced until 68. In 64, doors changed to not suicide doors, and hood lost the middle strip. 65 and 66 were minor changed, but in 67-68, VEMAG offered a new front design with four headlamps, as ugly as any American car from 58.

Kind regards, Bob Dieck
