The word North Koreans use for these is 협동농장 where 협동 = co-op/collaboration and 농장 = farm. |

But the meaning is the same. When you as a foreigner call them "kolchoz", the Northkoreans understand it. Those, who speak German, even understand the DDR-term "LPG": Link to "en.m.wikipedia.org" In German unknown is "co-op" for such cooperatives. The reason is, that up to the 1980ies "CO-OP" was a large (as a cooperative organized, owned by a workers union) supermarket chain. It ended up in a big corruption scandal.
