In this shooting, members of an African American gang had pulled a drive-by on a Quinceañera party, resulting in the deaths of a mother and her four-year-old son. In the old days, the murders of a woman and her child was seen as a violation of the Criminal Underworld and if those responsible were found by members of the Underworld, they would've been killed.

I remembered the episode.
