Is sedan the correct class?

As I see it, the back seat is not cramped enough and the roof not low enough to be a true coupé.

Yes, it is a 2-door sedan like the E30.

Shouldn't it be listed as Alpina C1 like the other E21 Alpina?

Or maybe its B6?

According to this https://www.classicandsportscar.com/features/alpina-c2-27-rare-bmw-meets-its-maker * there were no RHD Alpinas -as this car is- until 1982. This is quite suspect though it doesn't completely rule it out. Add to that that there's again no modelbadge (B6 2.8) plus all the irrelevant beauty pieces and this E21's owner doesn't have a strong argument for Alpina ownership.. Just an E21 with badging.

* "In 1982, responsibility for Alpina in the UK shifted to Sytner, the Nottingham outpost of BMW run by legendary Touring Car racer Frank.
Sytner’s stewardship proved a turning point for the tuner’s fortunes in Britain, and for the first time Alpina’s cars were available to view in a dealership and – crucially – configured in right-hand drive."

I think that article - which is ambiguously phrased - means that before 1982 RHD BMWs could be converted for (or even in?) UK through Crayford and then Brian Muir - so BMW XYZ Alpina. Then Sytner took over, selling and also building full-fat Alpina XYZ. C&S are usually very accurate and rarely wrong (which is why I'm a subscriber to the magazine), and there was a definite shift in Alpina emphasis here after Sytner took over UK responsibilities.

I respect them and think they're accurate too but I interpret it differently. Anyway I would not disagree to have a car with some bits as "Alpina" in italics but to list it as a full Alpina I'd need something more if it was up to me..

furthermore as all E21 B6's were 2.8 it should be a B6 2.8

Also noted in passing that 1980s HK seems to have had a lot of bodyshops which created/imported many of the famous tuning names for exotica - Koenig, Strosek, AMG etc. We have a few films with a selection of afflicted Ferraris/Porsches/Mercs etc - no real idea if these are genuine or wannabes or a mixture, but it seems these brand names were fashionable at the time, so am not surprised if we have several real/pretend Alpinas in HK.

Well there you go. Also compare the front spoiler: shape is all wrong next to B6/C1 correct spoilers or even A1/3/4 or any other Alpina spoiler. This is the best giveaway in my view.

Safe to say after all the above discussion this is just a 1979-1982 BMW 3 [E21].
