The car with the trunk open or the car the camera is in?

I say it's a full-size GM sedan like a Cadillac Deville/Fleetwood.

Based on the outside mirror it's most likely a fullsize Chevrolet or Pontiac from early 1980's. Cadillac, Buick and Oldsmobile had specific designs for their outside mirrors (rectangular for Cadillac -- Oval with flat top for Buick and Olds).

I don't know, it seems to have a formal roofline (similar to the Deville, Ninety-Eight, and Park Avenue) from the interior C-pillar.

Any hopes of getting this? It appears in the montage where the Narrator is trying to find Tyler Durden by going to different cities across America.

I've narrowed it down to either 1981-85 Chevy Impala or a 1980-81 Pontiac Bonneville.

Pontiac's mirror seems to be a little more round while the Chevy's mirror looks more like this.
