Convertible probably means 220(S), so W180. |

What’s the meaning of "[W180.030]"? I read that a lot of times here, but don’t know what it means. -- Last edit: 2022-05-30 08:53:16 |

It is the chassis code for this specific W180 convertible model. You can find the rest of them here: http://www.mbzponton.org/valueadded/other/overview.htm |

Thank you for the explanation and the informative link! Unfortunately, I don’t know anything about these things at all, and I’m glad that there are members here who explain such things to you. I like to feed the site with more cars and movies, because I find such databases very useful and also like to browse them as a layman. As I said, I’m no expert in cars, and I won’t become one anymore, but a little basic knowledge doesn’t hurt. According to the page you linked, this Mercedes-Benz 220S Cabriolet [W180.030] was built from April 1956 to October 1959. Are these models identical in design, or are there minimal differences that allow an exact dating, for example to the years 1956 or 1958? -- Last edit: 2022-05-30 08:49:28 |

Well, these are secrets that we try to recover. Like here (W123 sample): /vehicle.php?id=1061001 Today we know nothing about 1956-1959 W180 cabrio's visual changes. |
