The japanese (?) sedan on the left (under the tree) or the white one on the right. |

The gold painted car seems to be a Datsun Laurel, the white one another Paykan. |

The white car is a Buick Iran (a 1979 Skylark built in Iran in the eighties) note the vinyl top, bumper guards and side moulding) The bumper rubber strips are missing at both ends of the rear bumper on this one (it's still present between them). The bumper rubber strips are often missing on these cars, this one misses the right one at the rear and also misses one at front. Here's one (It's listed as a Skylark on CarDomain but it's not...) http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2514883 and another one http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2639541 -- Last edit: 2007-07-24 05:19:47 |

Here's another one that my sister sent me from Iran (also with a missing bumper strip): |

Laleh Seddigh, a young Iranian woman who races cars learned how to drive with a car like this one when she was 13! pour ceux qui lisent le français: Link to "64.233.167.104" Google translation... -- Last edit: 2007-07-24 05:55:15 |

If it was dependent on parts imported from the US, production would have stopped when the US government imposed a trade embargo on Iran after the Revolution. |

The production continued into the eighties. I think it stopped in 1987. Look at "Iran" on this page on the section about the 1975-1979 Skylark. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Buick_Skylark |

Perhaps they shipped the parts via Canada. |
