Sunbar ◊ 2010-05-13 11:04	Prior to the introduction of the front wheel drive Vauxhall Cavalier (J-car) the volume car range of the Opels were no longer sold by Vauxhall-Opel dealers in the UK, leaving only the sportier Opel Monza and Manta or luxury Senator models. Other than private imports, the following Opels (S, T, U and V-cars) were not officially sold in the UK after August 1981. S-car - Opel Corsa [A] / Vauxhall Nova Mk.I, the Opel version was never sold in the UK (introduced April 1983). T-car - Opel Kadett front wheel drive last sold as an Opel model in the UK as the Kadett [D]. The Kadett [E] was never sold in the UK only the T-car '85 Vauxhall Astra mk.II was sold by Vauxhall-Opel dealers from its introduction in August 1984. U-car - Opel Ascona [B] and V-car - Opel Rekord [E], dealers only selling the Vauxhall Cavalier (J-car) and Vauxhall Carlton (V-car). After 1982 the Opel range sold in the UK was as follows. Vplus/W-car - Opel Senator last sold as Opel in 1984 when it was renamed the Vauxhall Senator. V-car coupe - Opel Monza last sold in 1987 with no equivalent Vauxhall version. U-car coupe - Opel Manta [B] last sold in 1988 replaced by the Vauxhall Calibra in 1989.
