1982 Daihatsus:
- hatchbacks = Charades "G10s"
- 4x4s = Fourtrak (in UK)
- vans = 850, seems all in "High Roof" version.

Nice picture.

I don't think the Taft name was used here, just the F10 - F20 etc.

Taft [F10] arrived here in 1976, then Taft [F20] Oct 77 - July 84, Station Wagon 6 seater from Feb 82 - I looked it up for this one, but can't find the source again. Early versions very low key sales in low numbers, so not much referencing. TAFT stands for Tough Almighty Fourwheeldrive Transport, and I wouldn't argue against UK names being "Taft F10" and "Taft F20" if folk are happier with that. Fourtrak name came to UK in July 84 with [F85] and is the first included in Glass's car guides and a couple of other listings; previous versions only traced in Glass's commercials guides.

Can't find any reference to Taft in brochures and advertising from the period, most seem to use Fourtrak:

My clearest statements were

from

.. which seems fairly confident about its facts, so I'd assumed they were correct. But am swithering towards the brochure use of Fourtrak if the 1981 date is solid; it doesn't seem to show the 1982 Station Wagon, so seems to fit .....
