Very minor shot of this US spec E21 320i. Note the old (pre-1987) orange NY license plate. This may be a 320i sport - see front air dam. Wheels are filthy! Car is equipped with foglight gaurds and sunroof deflector. 1970's BMW E21's always had chrome mirrors. By 1980, they were black. This version is a 1980-1983 model year. -- Last edit: 2006-11-03 22:32:51 |

How can you possibly know this is a 320i? |

I'm going out on a limb here (as I don't know), but did North America get any other model of the E21? |

In late response to G-Mann and Hecubus: In the US, the only E21 available was the 320i. Mild changes to the tailights, mirrors, engine, interior, wheels, were made from `77-`83. The only special version of the 320i we could get was the 320i Sport. It was availbale in the early 80's. It had a large front-air dam, fog-lights, LSD, Recaro Sport Seats, 3-spoke steering wheel, BBS cross-spoke wheels, deluxe tool-kit, and a stiffer suspension. Lastly, in this photo it is very easy for me to identify this car as a 320i. My family owned an Agate Green 320i. (I can identify most Bimmers by the most minor details) -- Last edit: 2006-11-03 22:34:36 |
