Let's take ... the yellow car?! ... just joking! Here is another Step-Van: The beige car and the red van might be of interest, too. -- Last edit: 2007-07-01 13:13:55 |

Beige Car is a Lincoln Town Car, the red van is a late 80's early 90's Ford Econoline 350 Super Van. The step van looks like a Grumman-Olson Kurbmaster P-40, comments? -- Last edit: 2007-07-01 18:34:22 |

If they don't produce the Caprice as full-size car anymore, what is the now-a-day taxi in the States and in New York? |

Most Taxi's (around Orlando) are Ford Crown Vic's, E-Series Vans and Mercury Grand Marquis' |

The Crown Vic is the standard bearer for police/taxi fleets, although the 2000- FWD Impala has been in limited use by NYPD and others. The Chrysler 300/Dodge Magnum may also see more use. |

The Crown Victoria accounts for about 80-85% of all police vehicles in the United States. The Impala is not used as a taxi by any major taxi companies, although I'm sure it has seen use as a taxi in limited numbers. Besides that, other minivans such as the Caravan have seen extensive use in Taxi fleets and as of late, the Ford Escape has become a part of the New York City Cab Company's fleet as a Hybrid alternative. And it is the Dodge Charger, not the Chrysler 300, that has been offered with a police option, along with the Magnum. -- Last edit: 2013-03-24 15:21:13 (G-MANN) |

This is not a Grumman Olson Kurbmaster or Kabmaster, it is an aluminum body made by the now defunct Union City Body Company. |
