Nope 427 is a wagon, that could be a 408 in basic trim(single round headlights,a grille got also by Moskvitch 426 wagon and 433 panel van),a model that was followed to be sold even after the apparition of upgraded 1976 Moskies'line, when was renamed Moskvitch 2138(i.e.a 2140 with 1.3 lt.engine in lieu of 1.5 lt.),but keeping the same 1964 coque of debut. PS On some export markets was named also Moskvitch 1360(after the engine capacity) -- Last edit: 2013-03-24 15:22:39 (G-MANN) |

The export name SCALDIA come from the Belgian assambly plant. First located not far from Antwerp, the name Scaldia come from the latin. Scaldia is the latin from Schelde, the river in Antwerp. No Moskvitch in the former East-block countries is a Scaldia. Only in West Europe. |
