When you say old truck spotters do you mean old truck spotters or spotters of old trucks? Guy Goliath, until the solicitor’s letter from Germany at which point it became Guy Warrior. |

Correction: the name was changed to Invincible, not Warrior. http://www.historywebsite.co.uk/Museum/Transport/commercial/Guy/guylorrypics.htm From what I have been able to unearth, can we please change the name of the subject vehicle from Goliath to Invincible? Sorry for the error. It seems that the very early chassis were called Goliath, but some time between August 1954, when the first eight wheeled chassis went to Bulwark Transport of Chippenham, and March 1955, the name change occurred. The cab is the familiar Willenhall steel unit, with a glass fibre front panel added to change its appearance. In the absence of any number plate information, please use 1955 as a start point. "GOLIATH NOW INVINCIBLE 25th February 1955 THE type name of the range of Guy 12-22-ton vehicles introduced at the Commercial Motor Show last year has been changed from Goliath to Invincible. Guy Motors, Ltd., registered the name Goliath in this country many years ago, but it was found that the German Borgward concern had registered it and were using it in several countries."
