Wild guess - Fiat 124 station wagon.

Or Peugeot 404?

Keep guessing, I won’t because I don’t know what it is, but I do know it isn’t either of those.

Looks vaguely Japanese to me.....

I almost thought it was a Volvo Amazon, but that roof looks like it has a bit of a hump. That and the fact that it looks like a 2-Door wagon.

I didn't think it was long enough for a Peugeot 404. Here it is in full-size cap:

I think it's a Fiat 1100 R.

Standard version, rather 1962+ because cheaper shape of rear fender.
'Glassed' van or wagon?

From EarlyDatsun.com (from the Wayback Machine), "Datsun WP312 Wagon
A wagon version was also built. It featured a two piece rear door, where the glass section lifted up and the metal section folded downwards. Early WP312s continued to use the same tail lights as the WP311, which were an odd kidney shape, later versions used the tall tail lights from the 1963 sedan."

This one looks like it has larger taillights than the 310/311/early 312 models:

311 wagon taillights:

1963 312 sedan taillights:

So I would say a late 1963 312 wagon.

Were these not sold in mainland USA? This is one of only two Datsun 312s on this site, and the other one was also in this very show.

The Import book that I have shows that only 4,707 Datsuns were sold in the US in 1963, that's all models. For perspective, Maserati sold 5.448 Levantes in the US last year. It also made the note that like most Japanese brands, sales started slowly and mainly on the West Coast before making it in all 50 states, so they were more likely to be seen in Hawaii than the mainland.

It was a big jump over 1962 (2,629 sales); 1961 (1,436 sales); and 1960 (1.640 sales). Sales doubled for 1964 (10,315).
