rare postwar model built from 1945 - 1949; our third one so make them MY 1946 |

Not that rare, and not built prewar at all. I am sorry, I should have put “Sixteen”, there are 21 of those listed. We had one in the family, between the 1935 Wolseley Hornet and the 1952 Armstrong Siddeley Whitley. The bodyshell was introduced in 1939 but only as a Twelve, totally underpowered by the ancient design sidevalve engine, the overhead valve Sixteen engine, introduced for 1946, was a big improvement. -- Last edit: 2018-02-10 11:19:05 |

24 now listed as we had a couple of others hiding as "16"s, including a second Japanese sighting (with over-riders and different plates so likely to be a different car). So a useful blip! |

If you're referring to /vehicle_853067-Austin-Sixteen-BS1-1946.html the plate is a prop, so that just leaves the over-riders. |

One bolt for each over rider. Ten minutes work with a 1/2 inch AF spanner. |
