Not much to go on but almost certainly an ex British Army 4x4 .
Door may be clue.
Given short wheelbase I think it is the British army's only 30cwt 4x4 a Fordson WOT8.

RNM 29 = Bedfordshire, April-May 56 but not sure if that's helpful info for ex-army stuff.

Fordson WOT8 is a good suggestion JCB, but little to confirm it. Door is about the right size but upper frame looks rather slim to me, also rear differential housing is possibly too wide for the Fordson? No detail on the front mud-guard to compare with the two steps on the Fordson. I've no better suggestion currently.

Mid-Bedfordshire and North Hertfordshire have (had?) two agricultural colleges or research institutions; The National College of Agricultural Engineering Silsoe in Bedfordshire, and at Harpenden, the Rothamsted Research Institute.

What was the purpose of the truck in the film? Looks like a mobile laboratory but for the two discs at the front maybe a mobile kitchen?

They are clocks .Some kind of lab , only watched the film in fast forward !
If not the Fordson 30cwt or 3 ton 4x4 that only leaves Bedford QL , Austin K5 , Thornycroft Nubian , Albion FT11 as British WW2 3 ton 4x4s.
Albion and Thornycroft have different doors so maybe Austin K5 which seems to have thin window surround.

Yes, just possibly an Austin K5.

Rothamsted Research Institute at Harpenden seems more likely registered in nearby Luton but nothing found to confirm their work in the 50s or 60s.

I found this scene in a BBC compilation of 'Look at Life' films (Country Living). The laboratory looks larger than in the picture and although nothing more can bee seen of the vehicle, an Austin K5 is probable, as said before, given the ex-WD WWII vehicle cab and chassis.
