dsl ◊ 2021-07-06 18:49	SD1 production ended from late 85 onwards as versions were gradually withdrawn, with none made after mid-86. However there were big leftover stocks, particularly of 2300, 2600 VdP, and Vitesse. These were gradually cleared into 87, some getting Aug 87 E plates. Many were repainted and sold to police forces, with the final batch of mainly 2600 VdPs sold to the Met in Nov 87; the Met insisted on getting all the VdP badging removed so that the public didn't complain about cops riding around in decadent luxury.
