Origin rather Brazil

Can I say that's rather debatable? As far as I can remember, this model wasn't even produced in Brazil...

Yes but it's practically a LWB Siena, with which it shares also the chassis code. It was neither sold in Italy, anyway. Maybe origin Turkey could be the best choice as it was engineered by Tofas

What's the problem with saying "Origin: Italy"? Both the Albea and the Siena/Palio models were designed in Turin, if I'm not wrong for at least early models, and one can say that existed multiple different models for specific markets, but for what's worth I don't see any evidence that shows that were also engineered in Brazil, Turkey or whatever else instead of Italy.

Here there is a design history of the Fiat Palio http://www.economist.com/node/156702

Quote The first option the firm considered for Brazil's market was to adapt the Punto, a highly successful small car launched in November 1993 as the Uno's replacement in Europe. But that would have been “an Italian solution”, says Giovanni Razelli, who in 1994 took charge of Fiat's international operations, and since January 1996 has steered the Palio project from Brazil. Instead, in 1992, Fiat decided to build a new car specifically for emerging markets, as the spearhead of a plan to raise the firm's total sales from 2.3m cars that year to 3m by 2000.

Btw, I believe that the concept of model origin may need some more debate. I mean, what makes a model originating from a country rather than another one? I just read for example a post this afternoon about the origin of the Dacia 1300, which is considered to be Romanian but is in fact a Renault 12 with some minor changes. Same for earlier Ladas or for the Polski-Fiat 126. But for some other models the origin is maintained even if they haven't much to do with their original country. I'm not stating that one way is correct and the other not, but in my opinion we could try to set up a more precise guideline for this...

But unless my English knowledge is failing me now and I'm missing something, nowhere in the article strictly says where this model was exactly engineered. Not that someone here besides you and me really cares at the end...

Anyway, I totally agree with you on second part.

Quote since January 1996 has steered the Palio project from Brazil

It's not 100% explicit indeed, but to me it seems quite significant  Anyway, Wikipedia states it as engineered by Fiat Automoveis https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fiat_Palio

Quote It is a world car, developed by Fiat Automóveis and aimed at developing countries.
