The second part of the sentence may or may not have been there when I read the article back then. Or I just assumed the hatch was launched simultaneously as the facelifted sedan as no pre-facelift hatch exists. On English Wikipedia there's even a picture described as 1994-1997 Kia Mentor GLX liftback (Australia), which I believe is a falsehood now.
