Fairly sure we've seen this picture before, with a discussion about its unusual number plates. But can't find it.....

the sad biker wrote The Ford Classic has a temporary French plate, perhaps someone from the UK who was working in France for a few months and had taken their (UK registered) car with them?

dsl wrote ..... I don't think it's a French combination - looks like just 2904. RHD and looks like UK-style tax disc. 2904 could be a Guernsey combination; I can't find a reference to them using a red format, but maybe a trade plate or temporary resident??

Looks like a strangely shaved down or printed off center trade plate.

French temporary plates were larger, to accomodate at least six digits, as in 1234TT75. This plate looks more like a belgian temporary plate. I know they looked like that in the 1980s, but had six sigits. Maybe they had only four digits in the 1960s.
