Depends, where it was filmed, in East or West Germany. In West Germany it was named 1200 Kombi. Due the Robur and the architecture it was filmed in the East. So the DDR-naming is correct. The BIN-plates are fakes. This old code (1956-1969) for https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bingen_am_Rhein was reactivated in November 2012, so after the time of filming. And the location is definitely not Bingen. |

The movie was shot in Munich and Herne, so in West Germany, but I don't know where exactly the car was sourced from... The Robur truck is used because supposed to come from Transylvania, so a typical vehicle from the Eastern Block was needed (although the scripts on the truck don't sound Romanian at all ) -- Last edit: 2017-11-03 22:19:22 |

Herne... The modern houses can stand anywhere, but this style of architecture from around 1900 was widespread in Germany either. And not only there: Link to "www.google.de" Usually you can identify the region in Germany by the architecture until the 90ies -- Last edit: 2017-11-03 22:26:43 |

But Roburs aren't common in Romania. They could have at least chosen an old ZIS 150 from the new states... |
