C'mon guys, it's not a Cadillac Eldorado ...it's a "pimpmobile", inspired by the Cadillac Eldorado ! "Antp": we need a section for "custom jobs" like this one ! I hate to see it in the "Cadillac" section ! |

I read somewhere (I think "Car & Driver") that this car was originally a convertible, but the false hardtop was added because it was decided that a pimpmobile wouldn't be a convertible. |

Supposedly they had to be careful not to get the car wet, as the pink foam material that covered the top would dissolve in water. ![]() |

Built from a 1976 Eldorado, as stated by a very knowledgeable Flickr member: http://www.flickr.com/photos/that_chrysler_guy/4925855537/ |

Definitely not! Les Dunham actually did some rather amazing designs for the equally amazing prices he charged...this just looks absurd and cheap. |

I think "absurd" was the intended concept. I always regarded this one as a parody of the so-called pimp cars of that era by Les Dunham, ASC/ Wisco, Barris Kustoms, Universal Coach and many other customizers. The Austin Powers “Time Machine” is not a contemporary mid-1970s custom - it was converted for the movie and they ridiculed the already exaggerated styling habits beyond usability. It's meant to be dreadful and they did quite a good job with that, because not even I wholeheartedly like it. Currently Formerly ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |
