Looks like the old Gilmore promotional car. It was auctioned off last year. It started out a modified 36 Buick for the movie "Topper" staring Cary Grant and then was used by Gilmore oil company. I believe it was rebuilt in the early fifties on a newer Buick frame. |

It looks like the old flying horse logo of Mobile oil company I think. It changed owners several times over the years. The first version had a more 36 Cord like front end and hood. |

I think the comments above are right. Original was used in Topper, Gillmore and then Mobile used the car for promotions and it ended up in a collection. If this is the last version, I believe it is on a 1954 Chrysler chassis. Don't have a clue what to call it. As Richard of C says, it was originally a modified 36 Buick. So it appears to be a modified buick body on a chrysler chassis. Maybe a Chryick |

What are we going to do with this one? It is identified. It is was originally the same car as /movie_29682-Topper.html but it has been heavily modified. Any suggestions for how to list it? -- Last edit: 2007-05-30 03:08:36 |

I guess it could go under 'Custom made'? any other comments welcome... |

If we know that it is a Buick, I would list it as a Buick if there is no better name for it... The other one given in the list is also a custom-built on a Buick chassis, if I understood well? |

That is a good idea Antp. The comments here will explain the difference in looks between the two postings. |

The Bohman & Schwartz body was refitted to a 1954 Chrysler frame at this point, so there's not really any 1937 Buick left in it. |
