We seem to have 3 probable sightings of this car (RHD, silver over dark, extra front lights) in 1960s French/Paris films, but currently scattered with various names/dates - /vehicle_1044838-Austin-A135-Princess-DS7-1956.html , /vehicle_770671-Princess-IV-DS7-1960.html . The plate here with an apparently UK font seems to be SOH 575 or similar - a Birmingham issue (so plausible for a factory Princess) but that was Aug-Sept 55 which is a year too early for a Mk.IV. But if it's 50HS75 (or 150HS75??) it becomes a 1958 Paris plate, and a Princes Mk.IV without Austin prefix. It's also possible that so few of these were made that VdP couldn't be arsed making any with LHD, so Monsieur Paris Princess-Buyer just had to accept RHD. Or buy something else more common like a Rolls. So I'm going to bring this trio together as 1958 Princess-without-Austin IV. -- Last edit: 2017-08-20 23:25:24 |
