UOO 303T was a false number plate assigned to the car during filming.

In part of episode 3.05, the film crew accidentally left the cars real registration number of COO 251T on the car.

UOO 303T is in fact registration VHK 495S

VHK 495S - was one of 3 pre-production press cars VHK493s/494s & 495s the other two cars were utilised for more mundane press and magazine work.

The famous VHK 495S was the first of the Capri 3.0s carrying UOO 303T and used in 7 episodes of series 2 of The Professionals 1978. It was used in the high speed chase scenes during filming, with Lewis Collins behind the wheel. Car sustained damaged whilst filming and was maintianed by Kingsbury Motors on behalf of Ford, as were the Rs2000 of Doyle and Cowley's Granda Ghia.

It was released from filming in November 1978 and sent back to Ford press department, Eagle Way, Brentwood Essex.

The car is still very much alive and in beautiful condition and gets noticed and recognised everywhere it goes.

Message for 70sBeaver : Most of the cars in THE PROFESSIONALS were supplied by KINGSBURY MOTORS. What this car part of their fleet ?

@ertyuio - In Series 1, Leyland provided the key cars for Bodie & Doyle to use (MGB GT, Dolomite Sprint). In Series 2 onwards, Ford won the contract, so provided the Capris, Escort RS2000, various Granadas etc from their press/publicity fleet; they did the same for many other TV series and films at the time eg The Sweeney etc, and many of these cars share number plate sequences so can be tracked across our pages. Kingsbury Motors may well have provided many of the other cars used, but not the Fords.

Hi Yes it was part of Fords three pre production Mk3 Capri

VHK 495S aka (U00303T) was handed to Mark 1 productions for Season 2 of The Professionals. Kingsbury motors maintained all the main lead cars and some of the Ford supplied background cars.

70sBeaver wrote VHK 495S was one of 3 pre-production press cars VHK 493S/494S & 495S the other two were used for more mundane press and magazine work.

They were registered on 3 Jan 78, after apparently being pulled off the Mk2 assembly line and being manually upgraded to Mk3 spec two months before the launch. White 493S was an Autocar cover car on 4 March 78 issue for Mk3 launch. Still survives and in excellent condition; apparently this is partly because it was stolen soon after its press appearances, used in "a major crime" (possibly a bank raid??) before being recovered and then sitting quietly in a police compound for 21 years.

Peppermint green 494S also survives and was the only RHD Mk3 in this Mk2 colour which was not continued for Mk3. After launch/PR duties Ford lent it to Autocar for a year-long test by their technical editor, former F1 driver John Miles, who then bought it for his company, WM Developments and used it to develop various suspension modifications on the 2.8i and Tickford Capris as well as their 3.2-litre engine conversion in 1980. Vanguards modelled 494S as VA10815A (twinned with VA10815B with LHD and French plates).
