I think it wasn't named "Duolika" in 1990s. Back then it was described same like other Dongfengs, simply with the EQ "code" - EQ 1xxx (or EQ 5xxx in case of fire truck). |

Weasel1984, I agree with you! and most likely it is already wrongly listed The name will be different cause of the specialty body builder will name it something else than DongFeng regardless of the badge which is only the base vehicle actually DongFeng would be too easy, lol -- Last edit: 2020-04-23 21:16:00 |

@aquila So manufacturer of the special body/conversion gave also brand to the final "product" - vehicle? Familiar thing - Polish manufacturers of special vehicles often did the same in the past. I guess it is impossible so far to tell exactly what body it is? In such cases "Dongfeng" - base brand - is still the best what we can do. IMO better than nothing - forever "unknown". -- Last edit: 2020-04-24 17:18:12 |

Surprising as it is that little as any modification goes will change the whole name, Weasel1984 Let's take an example...if a company takes a pickup truck and adds any equipment to it it will end up as a different name just cause of that that's why it's hard to find the correct name but you are right better to name after the base vehicle than 'Unknown' Only the cab is visible in this case, I wish it was identifiable but the rest of the truck is important, it can be anything! -- Last edit: 2020-04-24 19:17:23 |

Suspect that's the reason why in car catalogues few Chinese manufacturers "made" pick-ups with the same, Peugeot 504-based design: /vehicle_1029993-Yangcheng-YC-1021.html /vehicle_1032515-Zhujiang-GZ-1020.html This can be sometimes confusing indeed -- Last edit: 2020-04-25 14:41:49 |

yes the worse part is that older brands are badly documented because of the so many names there were existing and there were not so many enthusiasts collecting info Lastly you can find a obscure name on only one web page now and with no picture, all forgotten... or on a Chinese web forum or page that disappears quickly Better enjoy the info available currently because it's doubtful that it's ever gonna be archived someplace -- Last edit: 2020-04-26 00:26:09 |
