A question about the Citroen DS: With all the futuristic and new technology, would this make the DS very hard to repair? And was it prone to break downs? It makes me think of the classic Pennsylvania 2-6-6-2 Duplex steam einges, with speeds toping 140MPH, they were revolutionary and very sleak looking (this was sort of a train DS, airodynamic and very advanced), but it never lasted. This was because, with this advanced technology, it was unique are required special parts. It was closed to third party suppliers and this made them very expensive. Other problems was they frequently broke down. Oh, the Duplex engines (and the K4 Duplexes that replaced the origenal) were designed by Raymond Loewy.

The K4 Duplex was more of a success (it wasn't very revolutionary thoguh), but never grew as famous due to diesel engines and the more well-known GG1 electrics, NYC's Niagra 2-8-4 steam engines and the 2-6-4 Hudsons.
