1929 Hudson Super Six Sedan with bumper wrong way round Vintman |

This car used to be mine -- when I found it, the body had been cut in half and it had been made into a pickup truck. I found another body that had been cut in half and put the two together to make it into a sedan again. The bumper was upside down when I got it, and I never got around to putting it right. I ended up selling it to a collector who did a beautiful restoration on it. An interesting side note: A few years ago, someone was selling a 1927 Hudson sedan on ebay, and claimed it was the one used in the "brutal murder scene in Mobsters." I sent them a note explaining that the car used in the film was not a '27, but a '29. He responded by asking "How do you know?" I wrote back: "I owned it." The studio paid to have a new interior put in the car for the murder scene -- when it came back to me, it was covered in fake blood and there were several bullet casings left behind. I was going to have it professionally cleaned, but I decided someone might be alarmed by the "blood", so I cleaned it myself. This was a really great car to drive -- I drove it as my daily car for awhile. -- Last edit: 2018-01-12 08:36:55 |
