they had the CHMSL already in 1985 ? good to know.. ( we know that GM offered it as option in 1985 for Cadillac and i think some Buick & Oldsmobile models ) |

No, they didn't. I think the plate info must be wrong - should be 1986. Here's another one where the plate shows 1985 even though it has a CHMSL: /vehicle.php?id=631139 |

Just another case of model year vs production year? No mention of third brake light for 1985, standard or optional. 1986 has the third brake light listed as standard with no more comments, now visible in (most) pictures or schematics (US brochures) |

A lot of 1985 (and older) were retrofitted with CHMSLs when the US govt mandated them for 1986 MY. |
