This page is for the minibus. The red bus on the left is probably a Volvo, as this scene is in Stockholm. |

You see some other vehicle that could be a "minibus"? (as he excluded the red bus on the left) Though that I agree that it just look like a common US panel van, like Chevrolet/GMC G-Series |

Yes, that's the one I mean. ... or Ford? But which name was used in Sweden? Well, it was a 50:50 chance! Should it get it's own page? |

The bus is not so visible, if at least the front was seen, maybe, but in this case I would say that it is not worth a page. About the van, yes, maybe Ford Econoline. I never recognize these vans anyway... |

I hoped someone knows these by heart Looking at our own resources I agree that it is a Chevrolet G-20, GMC Vandura or Dodge Ram Van but not a Ford Econoline. But how was it sold in Sweden? |

We just call them vans not panel vans, it's a Chevy around 86, on the rear door on the driver side right at the bottom is where it says Chevrolet and Dodges from the pics I have seen put their name plate on the passenger side rear door,. -- Last edit: 2007-04-22 04:19:36 |

The term 'panel van' or 'panel truck' is quite all right and used throughout the English speaking world, including the USA. There are lots of references on the net: Link to "jalopnik.com" http://rad.davis.home.comcast.net/fc1.html http://oldcarandtruckpictures.com/PickupTrucks/1950-1959.html http://www.austinworks.com/phgasser.html http://www.rsportscars.com/eng/cars/fr100_paneltruck.asp But to get back to the subject: what is the brand name in Sweden? |

In my entire life in the US, where I was born, I have never ever heard people calling them panel vans, I have read books & other stuff on vans from the US, a van that has panel sides we call them work vans or delivery vans we never put panel and van together as the description of a van with panel sides, we did say panel trucks and Sedan Delivery for the cars with panel sides though. Cars, truck, and vans from the US are shiped all over the world every year it's not that hard to ship them you just need the money. |

It is either Chevy or GMC, the car name is on the left rear door, when Ram Van has it on the right side. |

I just call them "fourgon tôlé" but I wanted non-French people understanding what I mean -- Last edit: 2007-04-23 18:21:02 |
