Was this a Lincoln brand car or was the brand Continental? These are very confusing to name for me. I see that there's a similar discussion going on about a 58 Continental, so I'll just read what I find there.

I think Ford treat this MarkII as 'Continental'.
Continental division was established in 5.Oct.1955 for this car.
(but was deliverd from Lincoln dealer :D )

This was like that other failed brand a couple years later- Edsel by Ford.
