What's this entry doing on the first page of Unknowns ? I thought it was posted a long time ago. |

It was, but then someone deleted it, presumably since there was talk about having too many unidentified vehicles on the site, but I thought this had almost been identified SteveA was close to guessing what it was, I decided to post it again. But then if people think this isn't worth keeping since it is difficult to identify, maybe it should be taken off. It's an open-top London tourbus, notice the Houses of Parliament in the background. |

Here is what was posted (as I have few backups of the database ) So I would have listed it as Daimler Fleetline rather than deleting it... -- Last edit: 2007-04-18 22:28:09 |

I ride that route every day. There's always a few of these around, but in similar 'London Citysightseeing' livery: http://londonbuspics.fotopic.net/p29218926.html The solid triangular fillet at the back, the angled pillar at the front, the worn '70s/'80s seats and chromework point to it too. It's a c1982 MCW Metrobus. Here's a couple more in "London Sightseeing The official Tour" livery, parked just around the corner from where the shot was filmed: http://www.countrybus.org/Metro/M553b.jpg -- Last edit: 2007-04-18 22:50:38 |
