Daewoo.ro was Daewoo's Romanian site from the looks of it. The site was/is 20 years old. The first finished product, a Daewoo CIELO car, came out on the factory gate in Craiova on March 11, 1996, in a record time since the beginning of the factory refurbishment. In the same year, in December 1996, the production of the ESPERO model began. From February 1997, DAEWOO AUTOMOBILE ROMANIA started exporting the CIELO model to the Central and Eastern European countries. In October 1997, following some important investments, one of the most modern factories for the production of engines and gearboxes in Central and Eastern Europe was inaugurated. This capacity started to be produced effectively in March 1998, both for the domestic market and especially for export. The year 1998 was the most important in terms of launching new models: TICO in June, LEGANZA and DAMAS in September and October, NUBIRA in November.
