That's a Gacel. The Senda started in 1990. They were built at the VW plant in San Justo and there was never a two-door version in Argentina. The Amazon was the name of the brazilian Voyage for export markets like Peru, Bolivia, Chile and Paraguay among others, and it was available in 2 or 4 doors. |

In the actual http://www.autobild.de/klassik/ is to read, that the most Volkswagen, sold in Paraguay, were imported from Germany (since 1953), but in the last years some Brazilian made VW's were added to their range. The article is about the guys from Volkswagen Classic Parts, who have cleared out the whole stock of classic NOS parts - incl.a plenty of K 70-stuff (too many parts for the very few cars, sold in that country). Fortunately we have good connections to the VW Classic-people, so our hope is not spurious, to get a nice bunch out of the containers, which are somewhere on the Antlantic Ocean right now P.S. A propos South American made VW's: the export of the Brazilian made T2c Camper (a bit in the Westfalia Helsinki-style) to Europe is stopped now. Although these Campers have a British one-day-registration, so are juridically not a new car any more, the importer in Holland is not allowed to sell them as used. The selling as a new car is not possible in the EU, due the many restrictions about emissions, loudness, safety-feaures, etc. |
