Which of the ERFs do you want?

How many are there?? The pale eight wheeler is the same example in all 3 pictures.

The eight wheeler is a KV, behind it are two cars, and then an earlier ERF, dark in colour, cab type V.

Not arguing against KV - lots of Corgi models for instance - but surprised it seems to be our first. Any alternative names??

There are only 91 ERFs on the whole database, so I looked through the pictures, and this is the first KV cab indeed.
The full identification of an ERF includes, inter alia, the number of axles and the engine supplier and number of cylinders, so accurate nomenclature seems impossible unless the actual truck is known.

Is the subject vehicle an eight wheeler or a Chinese Six?

2 front axles, single double-wheeled axle at rear.

More ERFs than I've spotted during three weeks in Scotland last year.

Hardly a surprise, this film is 54 years old, and the factory closed in 2002, with the marque being discontinued in 2007.

Two twin-steer, six-wheeler ERF chassis were available initially...

1952 - ERF 14-15 ton gvw 66TSGE, Gardner 6LW engine, export model only.

1956 - ERF 17-ton gvw 46TSRA, Rolls-Royce C4.NFL engine, UK and export markets.

Although others may have been available later, its possible this is a 46TSRA here.

When did KV get 4 headlights? Glass's gives a slight reference to increased radiator size on 64G in Nov 57, but nothing else even vaguely helpful.

Paired headlamps are standard. - September 1961 CM archive.

This is somewhat supported by the preserved examples on http://ccmv.aecsouthall.co.uk/ with one exception in 1956 therefore optional headlights previously or later modification?

As far as I can see, about the beginning of 1958, but there are variations within this design like two different sizes, additional bright work, flared wheelarches, heaters. These are almost hand built vehicles, there will likely be overlaps and changes in accordance with customer's requirements.

But this is a 1954 example, http://ccmv.aecsouthall.co.uk/p548596651/h23fe8c69#h587f998e Twin headlights.
And this is a 1958 http://ccmv.aecsouthall.co.uk/p548596651/h23fe8c69#hd401210 Single headlights.

The variation of cabs used by ERF is quite large, cabs came from Jennings, Willenhall and in house, and were far from standard.

A lot of these images are of restored vehicles, which could have been subject to modification.

Book reference (caption, page 90) that twin headlights started in 1960.
