The IMDB doesn't have any location information, but the architecture in this shot looks British to me.

Rover 12hp 1921-1925
http://www.rover-freunde.de/rffzf140dt.html
also known as the Clegg 12hp as it was developed by a Mr. Owen Clegg
it evloved into the 14/45 (1924-1927) and 16/50(1927-1928)
but I think it is a twelve because of the way that the bonnet slopes down from the one piece windscreen

this car was actually owned by my dad. Charles McGeeney of church Street Kilcock county Kildare Republic of Ireland. the film was filmed in Dublin in 1971 by a Italian Spanish company. the plates used in the film were massacheussets 1924. if you want more pics or history write to me at jhnmcgeeney@yahoo.co.uk and yes it is a 12hp rover. the chassis number is 10000

Good info jonjo! If you have any pics of the car, or maybe even from the film set, do not hesitate to post links to them on this page.

not really to aufe with the workings of a computer, but if you go to my bebo site www.bebo.com & put in johnm2172 then go to pictures on my site & where i have "proper cars not the crap you have today" you will find 4 pic's of my dads rover. i need to get a scanner to get more pic's up. in my brothers garage we still have the number plate from the movie. M 504 massacheussets 1924 if you want to find out about the other cars in the movie go to the Irish Veteran & Vintage Car Club website. it was their members who provided all the cars. a little history, the original plates AI 1950 registered in County Meath 1921, to a gentleman in the village of Longwood. it was commandeered during the Irish Civil War by the republican anti-treaty side. about 20 years ago a man whose grandfather was from longwood came into the garage & said he remembered sitting on the car, we didn't beleive him until he came in with a photo which showed the number plate & the car with him on it!! he also gave us a load of spare parts for the car from his shed. in 1972 the car was driven from Kilcock to Le Mans racetrack & did 2 circuits & back home during a rally which was organised by the IV&VCC, all pictures of that were done on slides, dunno if you can put them on computer. the rally was for the first crossing of Continental Ferries from Rosslare to Le Harve. the car has since been sold, it is now in the ownership of christopher lanigan who owns CPL Motorfactors in Maynooth County Kildare. I never got to see the film, is it available anywhere? about the chassis number 10000. according to Rover, half the car was built in 1914, but with the outbreak of WW1 production was halted & resumed after the war. my dad maintained that as the car was finished in 1919 it should be that year, but because it is a 1921 registration it is a 1921 model. hope this information is helpful for you.
