I was still driving my '73 Dart in 1984 and saw lots of them and the Valiants around. The slant 6 engine had a good reputation and I never had any trouble with mine. |

@Commander 57 - I also owned a 1973 Dodge Dart; albeit it was a Dart Sport with a 340-4bbl. Good car, loved petroleum (12mpg in town; 16 highway). Traded it when gas hit $1.00 per gallon (those were the days). |

Mine was a "Swinger Special", the cut-rate bottom of the line hardtop. Bought it in 1979 from our local power company (Carolina Power & Light) for $950 at one of their surplus auctions and got a $50 Earl Scheib paint job to cover over the C.P.&L. logo stripes. Drove it until 1985 when I bought my Crown Victoria. Sold it for $650, so only lost $300 for 6 years of use! |
