Renault AE, pas encore Magnum (premier type de calandre de 1990). |

From the beginning it was Magnum, the difference is in the order - for the first few years it was "AE Magnum", later "Magnum AE". This one is Magnum AE - new Renault logo (on the trucks since about 1992/93). EDIT: More info - the badge is exactly 1993+ About the naming - the word "Magnum" (in "AE-xxx Magnum" order) was used since beginning and it is still true, but 1st it was used only in the top of the range version(s). Then during the fall of 1992, as some sources say (example), "Magnum" became the most important name of the whole series. Anyway worth to note that despite this "renaming" at the cab's side badges the "AE" still occupied the major place. -- Last edit: 2014-12-09 19:51:39 |

If 1993+, then no longer AE Magnum, just Magnum. @ Gamer: Please stop using these insurance websites: the information they provide appears is some times false, they give illegal info and above all, a plate from the former French registration system just indicates the last registration... |

It was still "AE" till 1997 modifications (when so called "Integral" was introduced), they simply started to use "Magnum" name for all versions (earlier only for top models), but "AE Magnum" badge was still on the cabine. Please see my comment above and examples below: - 1994: https://www.aarbids.com/live/images/auction-2/large-27231.0_100.jpg - 1995: http://heavycherry.com/imgs/a/d/q/z/k/renault__magnum_420_1995_1_lgw.jpg I would not divide it and list both 1990-92 and 93-96 ones in the same order as "AE Magnum", like it was till now, like still most of them is listed. We don't make difference between R Majors/Majors R. -- Last edit: 2016-09-01 16:22:16 |
