Vauxhall Magnum Sports Hatch, should be a very rare find! (only 197 built) -- Last edit: 2016-01-20 19:00:22 |

Sportshatch: http://www.droopsnoot.co.uk/cars.htm But may be a modified Viva looklike? |

Looks like a stretched Viva indeed, but it derives from the Magnum |

Magnum was just a Viva with a bigger engine and different front rather than a completely different model. I'm dubious about this one as these sportshatches always had distinctive red stripes and body coloured bumpers, which is why I suggested it was a replica made out of a standard Viva (or Magnum) Estate with the different 'droop snoot' nosecone of a Sportshatch added. -- Last edit: 2016-01-20 19:20:41 |

This looks like the exact car (it shares some of the odd features of this one): http://www.retro-motoring.com/events/Pendine-2014/picviewer.php?file=IMG_9877 VAUXHALL VIVA 1256 SL 1972 Registration number: 57VNO Body type: Estate Colour: Black Date of first registration: February 1972 |

Firenza Sportshatch (and not Sports Hatch). |

But... It's still under debate whether this is real or a look-a-like. If it's the car in my link (which it looks a lot like) then it's the latter... |

I'm with Sandie on this - a Sportshatch lookalike built on an earlier Viva SL estate. The details are just not quite convincing enough to jump for a genuine one. But it does look rather neat ... |

...pardon...!!! |

Far too much chrome jewellery to be a genuine sportshatch and it's the wrong colour. Another vote for Sandie, that car is 57 VNO, a 1972 1256cc base model Viva estate with nosecone off a sportshatch/droopsnoot and the chrome trim from a late model GLS. Being a 1972, the bodyshell predates the SL and it's only a 1256, not an 1800 or 2300. I wish I still had my old Magnum, a 1978 1800 with twin carb 2300 engine fitted, in custard yellow! |

SL estate was available from launch (Oct 70) until July 76; 1256 replaced 1159cc in Aug 71. So plate info looks perfectly solid. |
