Here you go; I believe it indeed says 'TRACTEM' on the side

It seems that the brand was CAFL/Tractem (I mean: Tractem is not a model name).

The thread devoted to the brand is indeed very poor in termes of information.

But now, it counts two more pics of a Tractem. Good idea, mike962.

By the way, aren't you member of this forum?

About CAFL, it's a former big steel, arms (St-Chamond tanks) and locomotive company, (im)merged in Creusot-Loire in 1970 and finally bankrupt in 1984.

The company was originally based in St-Etienne/St-Chamon/Firminy area. It seems that Tractem was a subsidiary specialized in construction and engineering vehicles, settled in Bergerac.

We should call the brand "Tractem".

then change it to Tractem without model name

you find so much about Poclain and Richier but nothing about Tractem

there was also another french hydraulic excavator producer called Benoto but again almost nothing on them :(

I left CAFL in 'extra info' so it could still be found by searching that term.
