Confusing mix of features. US sidemarkers, 1970-73 tailgate badge, pre-73 grille (as fragments of upright grille bars in front crash photo), pre-75 bumpers but March 76 onwards badge on rear pillar and cabin looks 76-ish mix of details. So my guess is a 76 US-spec mongrel/bitsa car which has been retro'd to look early. |

Except they didn't send them to the US after 1974 because of safety requirements. |

Not unusual at all for rubber-bumper MGBs to be modified to have chrome bumpers. |

nightcub's right about US GT stopping in late 74. So maybe a CDN car?? Or something lashed together just to be crashed?? The rear pillar badge is such an odd obscure detail for anyone to decide an earlier car needed one, but if this is switched to 1970+ US spec, I won't lose any sleep. |
