The car would not have been purpose built by the factory as a taxi, merely used as one. As far as I know there was no specifics Austin Cambridge Taxi, so I would suggest that this, and other similar labelling so of bog standard saloons are incorrect. -- Last edit: 2015-08-07 00:16:34

DynaMike ◊ 2015-08-07 00:27	Personally I think we should use 'Taxi' only when the car has some standard taxi equipment offered by the car factory (different trim or upholstery, separation window, things like that). On other pictures of the Nissan Austin A50 Cambridge there's always the Austin badge, which isn't surprising as 'Austin' is still part of the name. I guess that the Nissan name was only to be found at the identification tag under the bonnet, and on publicity material as http://www.earlydatsun.com/austina50brochure3.jpg .
